Dudley Municipal/Ferdinand Building Construction Starting

Construction began in March on the City's Dudley Municipal Building, which will house the Boston Public School department. Finally, the school department will be physically accessible to families all over Boston! Plus, the project will create 100s of jobs both on the work site and in years to come as the office and retail space will spur economic growth in Dudley Square. Interested in finding a job on the work site? Here's who you should contact: Mr. Clyde Thomas of Shawmut Construction at (617) 622-7248 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Hundreds of neighborhood residents and community leaders gathered to celebrate the beginning of the long-overdue project that will contribute to the revitalization of the Dudley Square area.  Speakers included Councillor Jackson, Mayor Thomas M. Menino, State Representative Gloria Fox, and Kairos Shen of the Boston Redevelopment Authority.

"Dudley Square is the the center of Boston and as Dudley rises, so does the City," Councillor Jackson said to sounds of cheers and applause.
